Had a good time at the Mad Beach Triathlon in Madiera Beach with all the Mad Dogs. Had my best swim of the year (felt very fast) and then held back on the bike just a bit to try and bust out a good run. Run was good for 8 minutes then had to back off the pace. Track track track is what I need...

PM - run/swim drills with client, break, then 1.5 mile jog, 8 x 200 at :35 avg (Z4), 200 walk between, 1 mile cool down

PM - 35 min jog/2200 easy swim
Thursday AM - 3600 m swim
  • 500 easy
  • 16 x 50 on :50 drill, swim, drill, fast
  • 20 x 100 pull, 10 on 1:30, 10 on 1:20, held 1:11-1:12 avg (Z2+)

PM - 30 mile steady ride (Z2)
Friday AM -
lunch - 1 hr run
  • 20 min warm up
  • 1:20 fast, 2:00 easy
  • 2:40 fast, 3:00 easy
  • 5:30 fast, 4:30 easy
  • 2:40 fast, 3:00 easy
  • 1:20 fast
  • 10 min cool down
PM - drive to St Pete
Saturday AM - St Pete training ride (65 in total, about 28 fast)
lunch - 10min transition run
PM - off
Sunday AM - 11m beach run - 20 Z2, 30 Z3, 25Z1
lunch - easy 1500 swim open water
PM - off off

Totals: 14.5 hrs - run ~40 miles (5.5 hrs), bike 5.5 hrs, swim 3 hrs. Wanted more riding but it didn't happen. Next week will load up. Had a pretty good week of running, I am moving fast but getting pretty winded at the higher end. Hopefully will get to where I can run low 17 (high 16 maybe?) off the bike in some of these sprints. Need to get in the gym but social obligations and those thingss called a job and sleep have made additional workouts difficult.
